We are a very small team at Imagined Things, and have a very large number of requests to stock titles (several per day), therefore we do not stock books that are self-published or from independent authors. As a small business we don’t have time to consider each book we’re asked to stock. We work with a vast number of small and large publishers already and choose our stock from their titles.
Please do not send us your book in the post as we’re unable to review titles we’re sent and will not be able to send it back to you or store it for collection.
Please don’t bring your books into the shop for consideration, our booksellers are busy with many other tasks in the shop, and will not be able to look at your book.
We are also unable to provide any feedback on books. If this is what you’re looking for, please send your books to literary agents to look at getting their representation, or undertake a writing course. We have literally millions of books we need to consider for stocking in the shop, and don’t have time to provide feedback on any individual titles.
If you are an independent or self-published author looking to be stocked in bookshops, please see the Booksellers Association Guide in the link below.
This handy guide written by experienced bookseller Sheila O’Reilly and produced by the Booksellers Association with tips and advice from high street booksellers to help authors get their book stocked in a bookshop. Please note many other bookshops will have their own policies and this is a general guide: https://www.booksellers.org.uk/Industry-Info/Industry-Info/Getting-your-book-stocked-in-a-high-street-bookshop
We wish you luck with your book!
