Imagined Things was born out of a passion for imagined things and the books that contain them. Georgia opened the bookshop after six years working as a Radiographer at Harrogate District Hospital. A lifelong lover of books Georgia nearly undertook an English degree instead of going into radiography. In 2016 the idea to open a bookshop seemed at first like an impossible imagined thing but it soon became a reality and Imagined Things opened its doors as the first independent bookshop in Harrogate in nearly twenty years on the 14th of July 2017.
Imagined Things is a proudly independent bookshop in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, located on Montpellier Parade in Harrogate Town Centre. We sell an eclectic mix of books across a range of genres for adults, young adults and children. We also sell a unique range of cards (mostly made in Yorkshire!), stationery and gifts to satisfy bibliophiles and non-bibliophiles alike.
We think the very best way to shop for your next read is by picking up physical books in a real bookshop! Also there is nothing better than connecting with the people behind the books: the authors. We hold a variety of author events including signings and evening events, adding to the already strong literary roots of the town. We can also order any book in print usually for the next day, and post books – anything in print, anywhere in the UK!
We have a loyalty card scheme, discounts for book clubs, as well as various competitions and prize draws. We care about being local and support UK, and Yorkshire companies wherever possible. We care about the environment too – you’ll never see a plastic bag at Imagined Things – and we always do our best to be environmentally conscious. We care about being at the heart of the community and are busy forging links with local schools and the community to support literacy and get children excited about reading.
Imagined Things is thoroughly independent, and we strive to offer something very different. If you’re in the area, please pop in and say hello, we would love to talk books with you!
